No distress signal flagged for Russian ship that left as mysteriously as it berthed at SA naval base

The Russian cargo ship, which docked at the Simon’s Town naval base, did not issue a distress signal, the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) has confirmed.

The Lady R left the Simon's Town naval base as mysteriously as when it arrived this week.

Locals reported that the vessel, which docked on Tuesday evening, and apparently offloaded cargo by crane, left the harbour on Friday morning.
