Nope, a 9-year relationship doesn't get you 10 years of maintenance money, Western Cape court rules

A woman, who dated her ex-lover for about nine years until their break-up last year April, now wants him to maintain her. 

The Western Cape woman instituted an action seeking an order to declare that she and her ex-lover were partners in a "permanent opposite-sex life partnership" and had undertaken reciprocal support duties.   

Therefore, they were entitled to claim maintenance from one another following the end of their life partnership.
