Northern Cape police are on the hunt for two people in connection with their investigation into a fraud case involving the Kareeberg municipality.
The municipality was defrauded of R700 000 after new banking details for a municipal contractor were submitted to it in 2018. However, the banking details were fake.
Hawks spokesperson Nomthandazo Mnisi said:
An intensive investigation by the Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team revealed that two suspects illegally changed the contractor's banking details to their own, Mnisi added.
Now the Hawks have appealed to the public for help in finding Thandiwe Neki Tladi, 26, and Andiswe Nebulan, 24, for help with the investigation.
Anyone who has information should contact the investigating officer, Captain Motsamai Mthombeni, on 071 481 3390, or Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
She said information would be treated confidentially.
