Two Eastern Cape children, aged eight and six, died hours apart while their mother, two-year-old brother and their neighbour's three children were rushed to hospital after eating soup laced with poison. 

The soup was allegedly mixed with poison by the mother's 28-year-old boyfriend who allegedly tried to kill her.
