Durban – KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested two men for the possession of drugs, after they were allegedly caught with hundreds of heroin tablets in Chatsworth in Durban.
The accused, aged 33 and 36, were arrested on Thursday after the eThekwini Crime Intelligence Unit and Metro police conducted an operation, police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said on Friday.
He said authorities made the bust on Lenny Naidu Drive in Bayview, where they approached "two suspicious looking" men.

"They were searched and 800 capsules of heroine were found in their possession. Both suspects were arrested and taken to the police station to be charged."
Zwane said the estimated value of the drugs was R24 000.
KwaZulu-Natal acting provincial commissioner Major General Bheki Langa commended the police officers.
"One of the root causes of violent crimes in the province is drugs. Our members will leave no stone unturned in dealing with those who are dealing in drugs. We will act strongly against drug dealers and drug dens in our province in order to clamp down on illicit drugs," he said.
