The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services is none the wiser as to what led to Hermione Cronje's departure from the National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) Investigative Directorate (ID).

National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) Shamila Batohi admitted there were "professional conflicts" between her and Cronje but remained adamant it was not the reason for Cronje's resignation.

Cronje was not present at Wednesday's committee meeting.
