Retailers such as Clicks need to start having an honest reflection to better understand the country and the customers they serve, says brand expert Thebe Ikalafeng. 

Ikalafeng, the founder and CEO of the Brand Leadership Group spoke to News24 on Monday evening and weighed in on the racist hair advert of the Clicks retail chain, which caused much outrage in the country. 

The TRESemmé advert on the Clicks website, which showed pictures of four women - two black and two white. The advert described the hair of the black women as "dry and damaged" and "frizzy and dull", while that of the white women was described as "fine and flat" and "normal".
