Amending the Constitution's Section 25 to allow expropriation without compensation has proven to be a controversial issue, with very few people sitting on the fence between the camp strongly favouring such an amendment and the camp vehemently opposed to it.

The ad hoc committee amending Section 25 completed its public process on Friday by adopting a report encapsulating inputs from across South African society.
