Rural areas are registering more people to vaccinate on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) than urban areas.
According to Deputy Director-General of Health Dr Nicholas Crisp, Limpopo - which is one of the most rural provinces in the country - is way ahead of the pack in registering people to be vaccinated.
Crisp said that, by 30 May, Limpopo had registered 66% of their over 60s on the EVDS system. The Western Cape followed them at 47%, Eastern Cape at 45% and KwaZulu-Natal with 45%. But Gauteng only had 37% of their elderly registered.
