It is indefencible for South African Defence Force members to be involved in party partisan politics, and that could never be allowed.

This is according to Deputy Defence Minister Thabang Makwetla, who said the chief of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Solly Shoke was correct in taking seriously an effort to invite military generals to an event discussing the state of the ANC.

News24 reported on Thursday that retired general Maomela "Mojo" Motau has organised an ANC cadres' assembly and is said to have extended an invitation to current and former SANDF members - raising the ire of the head of the force.
