President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deployment of soldiers to fight pirates on Mozambique's lucrative coast.

Altogether 200 members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will remain in the insurgency-plagued country until March 2022.

The government is spending R38 916 213 on the extended deployment.
