There are reasons to be concerned about the current state of South Africa's defence force, whose decline in capabilities has deteriorated since a 2015 review was approved.
This is according to Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, who raised concerns over budget cuts to her department.
