SA's defence force decline has 'become worse' - Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula

There are reasons to be concerned about the current state of South Africa's defence force, whose decline in capabilities has deteriorated since a 2015 review was approved.

This is according to Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, who raised concerns over budget cuts to her department.

Cash flow challenges at state arms manufacturer Denel, which plays a pivotal role in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) operations, have worsened the situation.
