SA’s municipalities on a road to ruin as Covid-19 compounds an already dire situation, says Mboweni

Poor Infrastructure, inaccurate billing, illegal electricity connections and a culture of non-payment are just some of the issues that have put South Africa's municipalities on a road to financial ruin.

To prevent further financial losses, Finance Minister Tito Mboweni said National Treasury appointed revenue and budget advisors in seven provinces.
