Four people have been arrested for kidnapping and assault after a man was allegedly found in the boot of their car in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday.

According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, at around 11:30, Mandeni police officers were filling up at a petrol station in Eshowe when they heard the sound of a person screaming for help.

"They realised that the screams emanated from a vehicle that was driving past on Osborne Road. They immediately intercepted the vehicle with four occupants. Upon inspecting the boot of the vehicle, police found a 31-year-old man who had been severely assaulted and was bleeding," Gwala said.
