Former journalist and school teacher Willem Breytenbach applied to have six charges of indecent assault against him quashed in a motion brought by his defence in the Cape Town Regional Court on Tuesday.
Breytenbach faces 11 indecent assault charges, four sexual assault charges and one crimen injuria charge, which were reported as a result of journalist Deon Wiggett's podcast My Only Story, which led to other people reporting similar allegations to the police for investigation.
Breytenbach has not pleaded yet, but News24 decided it would be in the public interest to identify him. He also used to work at Media24.
