South Africa to dispose of 80 000 Covid-19 vaccines this week

For the first few months after Covid-19 vaccines were available in the market, it was hard for countries to access doses. 

Now, several countries across the world are destroying millions of doses because of low vaccine uptake.  

Last week Kenya had to dispose of 840 000 AstraZeneca vaccines doses, because they are expiring. Another one million doses of Johnson&Johnson are likely to expire if they remain unused by April 15.
