Municipalities have sounded the alarm on continuing rolling blackouts and the implementation of Stage 6 load shedding, saying it will lead to the long-term damage of infrastructure.
On Tuesday, Eskom announced it would implement Stage 6 load shedding because of an unprotected strike at its facilities. Load shedding was escalated to Stage 6 on Tuesday from 16:00 to 22:00. Stage 4 will then be implemented from 22:00 to 00:00.
Load shedding will then be reduced to Stage 2 until 05:00 on Wednesday.
