State capture: Businessman explains R600 000 allegedly spent on liquor

Blackhead Consulting director Edwin Sodi has placed blame on his late business partner Ignatius Igo Mpambani for hiring subcontractors to do work on the Free State asbestos audit project.

A joint venture between Sodi's engineering consultancy firm Blackhead Consulting and Mpambani's Diamond Hill Trading 71 scored the multimillion rand contract in 2014.

But Sodi told the state capture inquiry that Mpambani did not "conduct himself in accordance with the spirit of the joint venture".
