DA leader John Steenhuisen says losing voters to parties like the Freedom Front Plus and Good is "obviously a concern", given that identity politics is a global phenomenon.

During last year's Super Wednesday by-elections, held in November, the DA emerged as the biggest loser, with the ANC, Freedom Front Plus, Patriotic Alliance, and Good Party winning wards previously held by the DA.
