Stellenbosch University's troubled Huis Marais residence no stranger to racist, drunken complaints

Huis Marais, the 75-year-old men's residence at Stellenbosch University, which has been thrust into the spotlight following a despicable incident, is said to be no stranger to racist, drunken and problematic behaviour.

Now, the Student Representative Council (SRC) is calling for the residence, where student Theuns du Toit entered the room of Babalo Ndwayana and urinated on his laptop and other belongings in the early hours of Sunday, to be disbanded.
