The DA has taken a hard line against simmering divisions within the party, adopting strict rules for internal campaigning which includes prohibiting leadership candidates from approaching existing party donors.

All donations received must be declared within 72 hours to the party's CEO for federal elections.

Such donations must also be declared to the relevant legislature.
