A stricter lockdown is on the horizon in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro if the behaviour of many of its residents towards the Covid-19 threat does not help prevent the spread of the virus.
That was the message from the Eastern Cape government in response to whether a strict lockdown was the answer to rapidly rising infections in the metro.
Acting Mayor Tshonono Buyeye said he would welcome an opportunity for stricter restrictions, adding it would limit movements and save lives.
