The ANC's national executive committee (NEC) meeting descended into chaos late on Sunday after ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule said he disagreed with the decision that he and other leaders who are criminally charged should step aside within seven days or face suspension.
News24 understands the meeting had decided that all party leaders charged with corruption and other crimes should be given an ultimatum of seven days to step aside or face suspension.
But at the tail end of the meeting, Magashule said he disagreed with the decision, leading to chaos and heckling.
