His wounds are still raw. But those will heal - it’s the psychological scars that will always remain, a shell-shocked Shaheed* says. 

For over two weeks, he was held captive by kidnappers who demanded R20 million for his release.

He was convinced he was going to die, the Bangladeshi national recalls, rubbing his scarred arms still excoriated from being tied and tortured for over a fortnight.
