With an investment of less than R100 million, the establishment of a new single transport economic regulator could see close to R3.5 billion flow into the state's coffers.

If passed, the Economic Regulation of Transport Bill will overhaul South Africa's transport sector.

The bill seeks to establish a new transport regulator that will regulate entities in road, air and sea transport.
