Truck driver in fatal Collins Chabane crash pleads guilty

Polokwane - The driver of the truck who was involved in a crash that killed Public Services and Administration Minister Collins Chabane pleaded guilty on Thursday.

Amukelani Rikhotso pleaded guilty to culpable homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Thursday, nearly a year after the crash that killed Chabane and his two assistants.

Rikhotso’s legal counsel Edward Sithole successfully applied to have his bail extended pending the pre-sentencing report and sentencing.
