A month after the University of Cape Town (UCT) council agreed an independent panel to investigate its vice chancellor and council chairperson should be appointed, the university has done little to give effect to the decision.
Retired Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) president Judge Lex Mpati, who was appointed to chair the panel, told News24 on Wednesday he was yet to hear from UCT.
Mpati, former Constitutional Court Judge Sisi Khampepe, former SCA Judge Azhar Cachalia, governance expert Trish Hanekom and Wits transformation head Bernadette Johnson were recommended for appointment by the council on 7 November.
