Undercover MEC: Eastern Cape social development boss dons disguise to check up on Sassa officials

Social services officials beware: There’s a new undercover agent out to ensure efficient service delivery.

But unlike the glamourous outfits used in the average spy movie, Eastern Cape Social Development MEC Bukiwe Fanta dresses like any one of the hundreds of pensioners queuing at the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) offices across the province.

Fanta donned her disguise for the first time last week to check up on the work of Sassa officials at their offices in Lusikisiki.
