Vincent Smith served as an ANC MP in Parliament from 1999 to 2019 his track record is one of a dedicated legislator and top party man who was often asked to step in to handle particularly difficult or complex tasks.

Smith handed himself over to police on Thursday and is expected to be charged alongside former Bosasa boss turned whistleblower, Angelo Agrizzi, on charges of corruption and fraud which relate to two payments, totalling R671 000, that Bosasa made to Smith in 2015 and 2016.
