A video showing an Eastern Cape police van with its rear door being dragged behind it during peak-hour traffic in Cofimvaba has gone viral, leaving residents stunned.

The police have remained mum about the incident, only to confirm the van belonged to the Cofimvaba police station.

In the 20-second clip, shot by the occupants of a vehicle driving behind the damaged crime prevention unit bakkie, the vehicle's rear door can be seen almost scraping the road.
