Bloemfontein - Nearly a year after 14-year-old Liam Siegel died during a protest over poor service delivery in Bloemfontein, the Free State, little has improved where his family lives and in neighbouring townships.

The roads are riddled with potholes, debris litters the streets, and grass at several cemeteries across the city has gone uncut for months.
