On Monday evening, 15-year-old Puleng Shabangu's friend knocked on the door of her home and asked to see her.

The two left together and hours later, after unrest and looting broke out, the teen's lifeless body was found among nine others at the ransacked Ndofaya Mall in Meadowlands, Johannesburg.
