Lerato Mosia was found strangled and stabbed at her flat in Jabulani Hostel
Chante Schatz, News24

A resident of Jabulani Hostel, where a teacher was found dead last week, said the community was shocked at the news that a young man they viewed as non-violent was a suspect in the woman's murder.

On Monday, the news broke that Lerato Mosia, 36, a teacher at Mara Primary School in Soweto, had been found strangled and stabbed in her flat at the hostel on Thursday.

Gauteng police arrested a 22-year-old man, identified as the deceased's boyfriend, who is under police guard in hospital after he apparently tried to take his own life.
