Mbombela – “I have lost the love of my life,” Manna Delport, 30, said after it was confirmed on Saturday that his wife, Candice, 27, died in a plane crash with the man she was having an affair with.
Netwerk24 reported the four-seater Cessna crash-landed on the farm Doringkop, between Machadodorp and Carolina, in Mpumalanga after taking off from the Komati Gorge Lodge.
The plane belonged to Herklaas Smith, Candice’s lover, and he was flying it.
Ernst Labushagne, Smith’s cousin, was also killed in the accident.

Manna, a banana farmer from Komatipoort, is the manager of Herklaas’s father Henti’s fertiliser company.
“I worked long hours and that was when the relationship between Candice and Herklaas started,” Delport said.
She had been living with her family and they were still married. The couple had a 3-year-old daughter, who was with her father when the plane crashed.
He described his wife as a gorgeous woman and an excellent mother.
He said she is still the love of his life. “My heart died with her in that accident.”
Smith was also divorcing his wife, Anel.
Someone who had flown with Smith before called him a “cowboy” in the air, Netwerk24 reported.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the plane exploded on impact and two of the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
