Chief Justice Raymond Zondo says businessman Edwin Sodi and two former government officials should face prosecution for the "asbestos scam" corruption – but has made no such recommendation about suspended ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule.
Magashule, Sodi and former human settlements department officials Thabane Zulu and Tim Mokhesi are all currently on trial on charges linked to the Free State's unlawful R255 million asbestos audit contract.
While commission evidence has painted Magashule as a key Gupta ally, he has yet to face any charges in relation to his alleged dealings with the family.
