The Zondo Commission discredited the ANC caucus' lame excuse for not investigating state capture - that it is for the police to investigate. President Cyril Ramaphosa agreed that this was a mistake, but now the ANC uses the very same excuse not to look into the allegations against Ramaphosa. Parliamentary reporter Jan Gerber writes about this and related ironies. 

As the ANC circled the wagons around President Cyril Ramaphosa after charges were laid against him about financial impropriety and an alleged cover-up after the break-in at his farm, one was left with a sense of déjà vu.
