Nkateko Masinga, 30, is an award-winning writer, poet and scholar. She currently serves as the internship programme director at Africa in Dialogue, an online interview magazine that archives creative and critical insights with Africa’s leading storytellers.
The publication interviews creative writers from all corners of the continent, exploring various contemporary, historic, philosophical, and social topics that affect Africans and Africans in diaspora. Ntateko is responsible for recruiting and training a diverse group of interns every six months, facilitating inter-continental conversations on the platform.
Nkateko has three poetry anthologies and has won several literary awards, including the 2019 Brittle Paper Anniversary Award. She’s authored multiple digital chapbooks, the latest of which, ‘Psalm for Chrysanthemums’, was selected by the African Poetry Book Fund and Akashic Books to be published in the 2020 New Generation African Poets chapbook box set.
Ntakeko runs a successful publishing company, Nsuku Publishing Consultancy, that publishes books in English and various African languages. She was a 2019 Fellow of the Ebedi International
Writers Residency, and a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow, performing her poetry on international stages. Read more about Africa in Dialogue here.
