Gross! These travel experiences will make you shiver

Cape Town - Best be aware of the dangers out there before you find yourself unknowingly eating jellyfish or sleeping with rat! This week's discussion on #TTOT had followers' spines quivering...

Each Tuesday at 11:30 (GMT) the twitter-verse comes together to talk about one of the best subjects on the planet - Travelling. You'll come away knowing more about the world and the differences in cultures around the world. Chances are it may just spark your next holiday adventure.

This week's subject was 'Travel Gross-outs' and it certainly wasn't for the faint-hearted. If you're a true traveller, however, these tweets might just get to excited to go explore more!

The last question got the tweeters very excited, especially. This is what they had to share:

Question 5: What is the grossest food you've ever tried?

The rest of the conversation was equally entertaining. Rest assured that no matter how gross your travel experience might have been, someone else's was equally bad - or even worse!

Question 1: What have you done while travelling you admit was gross?

Question 2: Gross hotels - where was the worst one and why?

Question 3: Have you come across any local customs or traditions that have grossed you out?

Question 4: What is something "normal" in your country that visitors often find gross?

Be sure to join the next #TTOT - Here's how it works:

Every Tuesday at 11:30 (SA time), the chat is run by a few of the world's top travel bloggers and aimed at getting travellers from all over the world to share their experiences.

Next topic, "Travel questions & answers" - be sure to add your questions on the  TTOT Facebook Page.

You'd be better off joining the chat via tweetdeck or hootsuite, which allows you to follow the discussion better.

It takes the form of five different questions related to the topic and will be numbered Q1 - Q5, with a couple of minutes for responses to each. In order to respond to a specific question you will start your answer with A1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, of course including #TTOT so you're included in the stream.
