London - British Airways passengers have been left without their luggage after a pipe reportedly burst in Heathrow Terminal 5 - drenching their bags in sewage.
According to Daily Mail reports, about 100 suitcases were covered in the raw filth and some passengers were still waiting for their suitcases to be returned.
British Airways has apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused. "We appreciate this will be upsetting for passengers. The bags have now been cleaned and are being reunited with their owners."
Sources claimed the smell was foul and matched the mood of most passengers who had been delayed by the incident.
Reports have suggested that it could be linked to the Terminal having being built on a former sludge works.
