Quiet vintage aesthetic and a blossoming garden filled with hidden statues, La Rive Villa is a luxury escape to the heart of Franschhoek.
The house was built in 1872 and has seen a couple of renovations over the years that retains its old-world ambience with the modern amenities hidden away in classic style. Its garden remains lush due to being built in a riverbed and a high water table and beyond the petite flowers and the watching statues, a spectacular view of the mountains complete a fairy tale picture.

It has been with the current owners for over 19 years, who originally only used it as their holiday home, but have decided to open up their 6-bedroom house to luxury travellers who want to explore South Africa's French countryside and have a place that they can call their own.
Classic artwork also permeates throughout the house, a collection of South African artists like Neil Rodger, Gregoire Boonzaier, Dylan Lewis and more - and you'll even find artwork on the furniture and on the floor!

Pizza nights mean competing for the title of Best Pizza Maker in La Rive's outside pizza oven and there are also multiple nooks in the garden and around the rock pool that are perfect portals for escaping to the world of books and imagination.
Between R42 000 and R58 000 a night, the house can at full capacity sleep 13 people and not only includes all drinks and breakfast, but also comes with a live-in personal chef and butler service - combining the best of a 5-star hotel and the comfort of home. La Rive is also available for small parties for those looking for a unique picnic wedding or birthday high tea.
