PICS: Northern Cape and West Coast beautifully carpeted in colourful daisies

Cape Town - Travellers were rewarded with the spectacular view of a colourful landscape as millions of flowers have bloomed in the Northern Cape and West Coast over the long weekend.

People made their way to the Namaqualand region for a weekend away and shared their photos of the brightly-coloured daisies on social media.

The flowers have thrived with sufficient rainfall in the area and consistent sunshine over the past few days.

SANParks said in statement that the daisies will appear later than usual in the Namaqua National Park. Nonetheless, Vygies near the coast have already started to bloom.

The Namaqua National Park officials say that because of the delay, the flower show would last slightly longer than usual, given the right conditions.
