Despite good rainfall in the area, SANParks said in a statement that the daisies will appear about two weeks later than usual in the Namaqua National Park, specifically. Vygies in the area close to the coast, however, have already started to bloom.
Photos shared by travellers show daisies starting to appear in the Northern Cape Karoo too.

Barry Snyman posted this stunning shot on the KAROO Facebook group.
Stefan Botha took these beautiful photos of daisies starting to bloom in Garies in the Northern Cape (below).
Botha shared to photos with Traveller24 and the KAROO Facebook group. Botha says the daisies in Garies have already started to bloom because the small town in situated in a valley about seven degrees warmer than the surrounding areas.
As with the coastal areas where the vygies have already started flowering, the slightly more humid conditions in Garies make for the flowers to bloom earlier than in the rest of the Namaqualand and Karoo.

Although they expect the flowers to be late bloomers, the Namaqua National Park officials also say because of the delay, the flower show would last a bit longer than usual, given the right conditions.
