Top summer-loving destinations

Cape Town - Did you know that twitter can be an amazing travel resource?

If not, then best you familiarise yourself with #TTOT, which stands for Travel Talk on Twitter.

Each Tuesday at 11:30 (GMT) the twitter verse comes together to talk about one of the best subjects on the planet. You'll come away knowing more about the world we live in and chances are it may just spark your next holiday adventure.

This week's subject was Summer Tourist Attractions, looking at favourite destinations, best things to see and taste, as well has how to beat the crowds.

Top destination recommendations, included Botswana's Chobe, Zanzibar, Cape Town, Thailand, Lake Malawi, London, Montenegro and Cologne amongst others - take a look below.

We also especially enjoyed Question 5What's the one drink you'd want to consume while touristing during the summer? The answers were unanimous - getting in on some of the local tipple not only keeps you cool but also reveals so much about the destination itself - here are a few of our favourites.

Q4. Any tips for avoiding the summer crowds at tourist attractions? via @Tours_By_Locals  #TTOT

Q3. What's your favourite LOCAL summer tourist attraction? via @EmmaHart7 #ttot

Q2.What summer tourist attraction surpassed your expectations & why? via @Frances_M_B   #TTOT

Q1. When do you consider a place as an awesome summer tourist destination? @Shantitravel  #TTOT

Be sure to join the next #TTOT - Here's how it works:

Every Tuesday at 11:30 (SA time), the chat is run by a few of the world's top travel bloggers and aimed at getting travellers from all over the world to share their experiences.

Next topic, "Intruiging accommodation" - be sure to add your questions on the  TTOT Facebook Page.

You'd be better off joining the chat via tweetdeck or hootsuite, which allows you to follow the discussion better.

It takes the form of five different questions related to the topic and will be numbered Q1 - Q5, with a couple of minutes for responses to each. In order to respond to a specific question you will start your answer with A1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, of course including #TTOT so you're included in the stream.
