The Book of Negroes is an award winning Canadian miniseries based on the novel of the same name which was written by Lawrence Hill.
The show is a six episode miniseries that was produced under the Official South African/Canadian Co-production Treaty. After huge success in Canada and being nominated for two Critics'Choice Television Awards, The Book of Negroes will be airing in South Africa later this year.
The television series tells the story of Aminata Diallo, an 11 year old who was abducted from her home village in West Africa and brought to South Carolina during the American Revolution.
