SABC contributing editor, Vuyo Mvoko, was mugged on camera on Tuesday night while preparing for a live crossing outside Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg. Watch the SABC's camera footage of the brazen mugging here.
SABC confirmed Mvoko was covering the arrival of Zambian President Edgar Lungu at Milpark Hospital when the incident occurred.
Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told eNCA "The crew were not harmed although they are still in shock. They were robbed of personal belongings including cell phones and a laptop. The matter has since been reported to the police who were called to the scene."
UPDATE: No arrests have been made yet following the mugging outside Milpark Hospital.
"The [police] member, a captain from Parkview police station, stopped to assist and ensure that the victims were safe. He drove around the area with one of the SABC staff members searching for the suspects, but to no avail," said Colonel Noxolo Kweza.
She said a case of robbery and theft has been opened. Police have vowed to find and arrest the men.
