About 100 people have gathered since Sunday to lay claim to a plot of land in Durban. EFF’s Lindani Mthembu told News24 in Ballito, “We are not grabbing any land but we are occupying the unused land.”
The farm borders the N2 freeway on the outskirts of Ballito, one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most sought after pieces of seaside real estate.
Mthembu continued, ''We are demonstrating our first pillar... which is expropriation of land without compensation".
The owners of the Ballito farm will lay criminal charges against the EFF brigade that have been trying to stage a land invasion since Sunday.
