The battle lines have been drawn for the ANC's next leader.

The ANC Women's League has come out in full support of outgoing African Union chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as it's preferred presidential candidate.

"After careful consideration, Dlamini-Zuma is the only suitable candidate at this point," the league said in a statement on Saturday.
