Committee dig up dirt on Desai: 'Were you honest in 2004?'

Judge Serajudien Desai, who is said to be one of the favourites to take over from Thuli Madonsela as national Public Protector, was grilled by the ad hoc committee on Thursday.

Committee members had questions for Desai around an ordeal in Mumbai in 2004, where he was accused of rape. Watch.

By lunchtime on Thursday only three candidates had been interviewed, with another 11 vying for the role.
