'I was underground for two weeks,' says zama zama miner

One of two illegal miners (also called informal miners or zama zamas) rescued from a disused mine describes his time underground. 

The man, still covered in dust, speaks above ground after weeks in a disused mine at George Harrison Park in Langlaagte, Johannesburg.

Rescue operations stalled during the day but resumedon Monday evening. Zama zamas and rescue personnel teamed up to rescue an unknown number of trapped miners.
