Watch as Cape Town traffic officer Nizaam Alexander returns fire after being shot at, at point blank range during a routine patrol.

Western Cape Government on Thursday released the footage of the incident that happened in November on the N2 near Borcherd’s Quarry in Cape Town.

The incident, which was captured on the officer's vehicle's dashboard camera, shows the officer returning fire and chasing after the perpetrator.
